Firefox makes it easier for you to access great content by bringing your most recently and frequently visited sites, including top search engines, along with popular sites and articles, when you open a new tab. The New Tab page is also the default Firefox start page, unless you have set a different home page.

When you use Firefox for the first time, you'll see links to top-ranking websites and popular search engines. These are eventually replaced with links to frequently and recently visited sites from your browsing history.

On the New Tab page, Firefox displays website links as thumbnails (miniaturized images) or logos, called tiles.
