hey richard, first: wow what a nice and descriptive way of submitting a support request :-)
i get the same issue on my machine (win7), but it is not something that turned up recently as i could replicate it also with former versions - i checked by going back until firefox 3. in general the save file dialog is rendered by the operating system but maybe firefox is not handing along the right parameters so that the filetype is displayed correctly.
there's already bug #586795 on file for exactly this issue but it has seen no activity since 2011 (probably because it's only a minor glitch with no impact on functionality). i'm not sure what can be done to get this onto the radar of things that actually are going to be fixed - you might want to try creating a bugzilla account and vote on the bug. i will also leave a small comment there...
Hello Philipp :) Thanks, after you said that, I uninstall the new version, and went back to 24, I think it was, but it was the same. However I did notice something else now lol, I probably just overlook this all this time. I mean I have been using the Firefox browsers for a long time, and did not notice this before. Anyway it seems, that only the "JPEG" will show and not the GIF or PNG. I made another video to show this :)
I will go now and fill out that bug report and explain the situation there. Thanks for giving me some feedback, and you have a great Holiday.
Look at the address bar. Select 'All files' Put whatever is after the dot in the address bar (ex. GIF images is '.gif')
Hello LauritzT, I have no issues with this. I was just pointing it out to Firefox support. I have been using the browsers for a long time and I had just notice this. I don't know if it is a bug at this point now or not. Like I show in my second video, it will show the JPEG, as being saved. But when saving the GIF, and or PNG, it shows a blank. However like Philipp said, the browser will still save the image in it's format.
Thanks, Rich
Sorry I'm new here. Should I say that this problem is solved? I did go over to the Bugzilla forum and post this issue there. But like I said, I don't know if is really a bug or not. I would just think it is now, because the JPEG image will show.
