Disable "link mistmatch"

Alvar Saenz Otero replied
Alvar Saenz Otero

My work uses a 3rd party URL "defense" program, so every link that comes to me via e-mail is sent to that "defense" 3rd party, instead of directly.

The Thunderbird "link mistmatch" then activates *every time* I have links at work.

Looking online there *used* to be:

 mail.phishing.detection.mismatched_hosts

but it does not work any more.

None of the "phishing" settings prevent the link mismatch from appearing. I could not find any other "mismatch" settings.

How can I avoid this horrible annoyance???

https://bugzil.la/1744986 suggests there is such a setting, but I'm not finding it with searchfox https://searchfox.org/comm-central/search?q=mismatched_hosts&path=&case=false®exp=false

What happens if you set mail.phishing.detection.enabled to false?

I have set to false all of:

  • mail.phishing.detection.enabled
  • mail.phishing.detection.mismatched_hosts (added manually)
  • mail.phishing.detection.disallow_form_actions

and none of them work :-(

The fact that I had to add "mismatched_hosts" likely means they removed it anyways at some point.

I'm hoping by posting here, this lets the development team they should bring it back.

Thanks!
