Can I safely uninstall Thunderbird if my initial setup was incorrect? I have all my messages on the server's webmail, so I don't think I will lose anything, and the faulty installation was done only a few days ago.

There will be no problem. Just uninstall.

You wouldn't lose any mail even if it was stored locally on your computer. User data is stored separately from the application.
