Repeated crashes [@ OOM | small ] on trying to open Thunderbird.
I'd really appreciate any help you can give me.
I've been using Thunderbird for many years.
TB has been working fine for all those years. and I have probably thousands of emails stored. Then, I went on a trip Sep 28 to Oct 14 and did not use Thunderbird for about 17 days. On my return, I tried to open TB. I found that a screen opened that I hadn't seen before, and TB seemed to be loading. While loading, at the bottom of the screen it said "Checking inbox for new messages...". Then, after a while it crashed without ever opening.
I tried to open TB several times after that, and I've always gotten the same behavior -- ending with a crash and never being able to open TB.
During the loading once, I clicked on Help >AboutThunderbird, which showed 115.3.3.(32-bit) and "Downloading Update 2.4 of 5.4 MB."
The last four Crash Reports, all dated 10/31/2023 are (the last one being the latest): bp-e634fd35-1b8a-488a-a9df-c23050231101 bp-73858652-569e-4362-95d6-030490231101 bp-992529bf-d1af-41d9-a438-43c370231101 bp-c39563fd-bca7-406f-8abf-85bde0231101
I thank you very much for your assistance. D. Prerau --prerau@rcn.com

Success if you do help > Troubleshoot Mode?
Thanks for your interest.
I started opening TB. Clicked Help>Troubleshoot Mode. In "Restart in Troubleshoot Mode" dialog box, clicked Restart. It started loading and crashed again. The crash report is: bp-6d6f7ea6-c346-4d14-ab7b-2d5d80231104
I saw that you could start in Troubleshoot Mode by holding down the Shift key when starting TB. I did that:
Got a "Thunderbird Troubleshoot Mode" dialog box. Unchecked both boxes and hit “Continue in Troubleshooting Mode”.
Got another crash: bp-88149dd4-8c50-46f0-aa5a-7dbf40231104

[@ EdgePool::Iterator::operator* ] and [@ OOM | large | js::AutoEnterOOMUnsafeRegion::crash | js::AutoEnterOOMUnsafeRegion::crash | js::gc::AllocateCellInGC ] respectively.
My recommendation is to start Thunderbird from the command line with
thunderbird.exe -offline
Then right+click on all your inboxes and pick properties > repair
Thanks for your continued assistance.
Tried Command Prompt:
C:\Users\David P>thunderbird.exe -offline 'thunderbird.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Tried Run command:
Open: thunderbird.exe -offline TB started opening, as before, and then Crashed: Crash Report: bp-0603d408-18e1-4d4e-8587-499bc0231108
bp-0603d408-18e1-4d4e-8587-499bc0231108 is the same signature OOM | small. Unfortuantely I have no solution at this time.
Perhaps the crash will go away if you create a new profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-multiple-profiles and transfer your information to that profile.
