r/firefox's status was normal (172091 users) and has been made private
Reason:
r/firefox is a private community. r/firefox. This community has shut down and will not grant access requests during the protest. Please do not message asking to be added. . We have gone private as part of the coordinated protest against Reddit's exorbitant new API changes, and unprofessional response to the community's concerns regarding 3rd party apps, mod tools, and accessibility that will be impacted by this decision. . More information: . https://redd.it/147cksa/. . For support, see . https://support.mozilla.org. . The moderators of r/firefox have set this community to private. Only approved members can view and take part in its discussions.
https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/ is not available. I get a message, '''r/firefox is a private community'''.
Here is a screenshot of what I see:

I'm assuming this is a temporary issue. Otherwise, we should remove the links to https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/ from the [[Mozilla official support channels]] article's "Non official channels" section and from the [[Get community support]] article's "Additional resources" section.

Reddit is facing a major protest from its own moderators

06-30-2023: Since r/firefox is available again (see below), I deferred my pending revision and made a new revision to add r/thunderbird and https://forums.mozillazine.org/ to the unofficial channels section.
https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/ is still unavailable. I made a revision to the [[Mozilla official support channels]] article <s>that's pending review (removed r/firefox, added r/thunderbird and https://forums.mozillazine.org/ to the unofficial channels section).</s>

btw http://forums.mozillazine.org/ would be better as the https:// was only added not long ago by the then student admin (osuadmin) as https:// can have sometimes have issues that the http:// does not have. The current OSU student admin is planning to do a major forum update on June 26 so hopefully https:// and member post search will be fixed then.

Thanks, James. I found the related mozillaZine post about the June 26 forum upgrade:

After a long and arduous journey for multiple students here at the OSL, and for the MozillaZine users who have managed to soldier on through the board, we are happy to announce that the Mozillazine forums have been upgraded! The biggest improvement is the seamless browsing of the site when using HTTPS. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please bring it up in this chat.

However Mozilla is continuing the protest by using the NSFW loophole (requires login) and only talking about Red Panda's lol.
Perhaps the main reason why I guess Mozilla reopened the /r/firefox/ from being private.

“All legacy technical posts will remain available so that searching for help related to the browser is still available, but henceforth and until the reddit admins appropriately reply to our concerns, the only new submissions allowed will be ones that contain the cuddly fuzzy little animals from which the subreddit indirectly received its name: the red panda! Also known as fire foxes.” At some point down the line, browser-related posts will be allowed again, the moderators said.
l'll leave it up to Kiki or another admin whether or not to remove the links to r/firefox in the two KB articles mentioned above.
