Whenever I restart Thunderbird, I have to change the settings back to "Table view," 20 recent folders, sorted alphabetically. This occurs on only one of my computers (Windows 11). My guess is that the settings file must be corrupted. How do I fix that?

On upgrade to 152.0, a pop-up asked for options I have not seen before. I cannot find info about what the net.thunderbird option is, nor why I would or would not want to click it? Any help out there?

I need help to remove a Thunderbird message "Welcome to Freedom" which pops up every time I open Thunderbird to read or write mails. Can you remove it, please? Or advice me how to remove it. Thank you Kind regards Kirsten Liljegren [redacted]@gmail.com

Many times, I have a conversation with many messages. I may want to sort the array of conversation fields on any field. Currently, if I click on any field name, the conversation collapses.

I'm a newby to Thunderbird so forgive me if this sounds stupid. I'm moving off Outlook so used the TB Import function to get all my mail into my TB Inbox. Sucess. Next I'm setting up Filters to move all that mail to my Local Folders but struggling a bit. After setting up a few filters, I hit the Run Now button and off it goes (I guess), reading thru all 9,000 messages and moving the ones targetted. The problem is, I don't know when that has finished so I go and build a few more filters and run manually again, or try to. The Run Manual button is now greyed out. It would be nice if there was a display at the bottom telling me why that is so. It would also be nice if, when running manually, it not only told you the target folder, but has a progress bar to let you know how that's going. I suspect the greyed out Run Now button on my subsequent execution is because it's still doing the first execution. I would know that if the display was there.

This product use to be simple. But now will not let me see the whole layout . Have to chase it across back to the begining. Been with this program over 15 years. Now i Hate it! Arthur Lovett as my father would say Keep it Simple and workable.

When I open the sentmail folder, I want the receiptants name (email address) to show in the list of emails sent instead of my name (email address). How do I resolve this?

I searched throughout Thunderbird's settings to see where I could enlarge the font in the main screen where the list of emails are. I can't even Ctrl+ in this screen to enlarge it! Help! Eye Strains... Please see the paint screenprint.jpg. for illustration. Thank you! Marla

All of a sudden my emails are permanently staying in bold in my folders, in Settings >Reading & Display Ive tried changing the 'Automatically mark messages as read radio buttons and quit etc and the same issue is happening, please advise

I just installed Thunderbird on an up to date Windows 11 PC and unchecked the box Automatically mark messages as read, but it keeps marking all of my messages as read.

Have been using Thunderbird and Firefox for decades, naturally, and have several email accounts. Within each account, I'm a prolific user of folders within the respective Inboxes. For years, these folders have remained in Alphabetical Order, as when they were set up. Recently, however, for no reason that I can suss, the sub-folders in the Inbox of one of my accounts have been gone "all agley", ie. they're listed all higgledy-piggledy in random order. This isn't a problem for my message filter - but it's a real problem for me, having to scan down a very long, disorganised list to find any particular folder I want to open. I've searched for an instruction to instruct Thunderbird to arrange the Folders in my Inbox in Alphabetical Order and can't find anything. Can anyone help me, please. Whereas on my other computers with the same account I can see all my Emails of years past, on my main computer suddenly and without any understandable reason only the mails of about the last four weeks are accessible and probably saved, be it in the default folder or a local one. I use Norton and Malwarebytes, but so i did already before the change took place. What can I do to reverse Thunderbird to its normal behaviour?

I use Thunderbird with Threaded View enabled and would like to keep using it.

What I am looking for is a way to have Thunderbird automatically keep older threads collapsed, while allowing threads that contain new or unread messages to remain expanded or become expanded automatically.

For example, a thread receives a new message - it is fine for that thread to be expanded. All other existing threads without new activity should remain collapsed. When Thunderbird is restarted, I would like older threads to stay collapsed rather than having many previously viewed threads expanded.

Is there a setting, hidden preference, add-on, or workaround that provides this behavior?

I am using Thunderbird on Kubuntu Linux.
