I have my calendar from mailbox.org synchronized with my thunderbird via CardDav/CalDav. I have multiple calendars in the same account (e.g. work, free time, brithdays, ...). I cannot change in which calendar an event is saved after I created it.

How to reproduce: Edit an allready existing event and change its calendar (e.g. from "free time" to my "work" calendar).

Expected behaviour: The edited event is now moved to the other calendar.

Observed behaviour: The event is not moved (any other changes to the event are saved though).

It is not the fault of my provider as it works on my phone and on their web app.

This is either a bug in any of two ways:

• It does not change calendars events but it should.
• You are not supposed to be able to change the calendar afterwards and that means the selection of the calendars should be grayed out/ give you no option to save it.

(I know I can Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V it into a diffferent calendar, which I use at moment but that costs additional time.)

I did change my password. On the IPhone and the webmail page the password is working perfectly, but in thunderbird I cannot connect to the server. It seems, the old password is somewhere registered and still used under Thunderbird. What can I do to use Thunderbird with the new password?

D’ailleurs je n’ai pas vu la mention « composition et adressage ». Par contre j’ai essayé d’ajouter d’autres commandes dans la barre d’outils en cliquant sur « affichage » « barre d’outils » « personnaliser », mais je n’ai pas vu la commande « insérer » (voir image ci-jointe « barre outils »). I'm starting to better understand your proposal for the "insert" command (we'll see the other problem later). I clicked on the “new message” command at the same time as the “SHIFT” command (I think it’s the one that allows you to enter a capital letter) but that didn’t give me anything. However, I clicked on “account settings” and I clicked on “HTML” (see attached image called “HTML”), but that doesn’t change anything because I still don’t see how to add the “insert” command to the toolbar. Besides, I didn’t see the mention “composition and addressing”. On the other hand, I tried to add other commands to the toolbar by clicking on “display” “toolbar” “customize”, but I did not see the “insert” command (see attached image “toolbar”). If you have the time to continue to help me, I sincerely thank you.

I have been moving slowly from other email clients to Thunderbird. I've been using Thunderbird in Windows for a while now, and decided recently to switch on Android from BlueMail to Thunderbird for Android.

In Thunderbird for Windows, I am able to use unified folders for all common folders (Spam, Sent, Trash, etc.). On Thunderbird for Android, however, only the Inbox is presented as a unified folder. I have discovered that this limitation is really problematic for me for two reasons.

First, if I am in the unified Inbox and accidentally delete a message, I have to check several different Trash folders to find the lost message, selecting each account and then that account's Trash. I anticipate responses asking why or how I could delete a message and not know what it was. With the avalanche of incoming mail the days, I often would use swipe to delete on the unified Inbox for items that are clearly not important-- but occasionally, a real message appears on the face to be junk and isn't. This is a real hassle, and forced me to turn off the swipe to delete a message interaction altogether, because it was too easy to lose messages.

Second, I have several different email addresses, and several different email providers, each of whom applies spam and trash rules differently. Two in particular frequently divert legitimate email into Spam, and I had been in the habit of scanning Spam for errant valid messages from these two providers. Being able to do this for all Spam in one location made this process much simpler.

Can anyone tell me:

• whether there is some underlying reason for this different behavior on Android,
• whether there are plans to implement such a change, or
• whether there are alternatives (like BetterBird, which does not have an Android port) that I could use?

I have two accounts hooked to thunderbird, my work account that uses google workspace and my personal gmail account. Today, my work account went totally crazy, and it's loading emails in my inbox at a snails pace. Meanwhile, my personal gmail account loads fine. I did literally everything. I deleted and restored the accounts, then I deleted the Thunderbird app and all the library folders on my mac that had thunderbird (maybe I missed some?) Then I reinstalled Thunderbird and connected everything again. Same result. Personal Gmail imap works great. Work gmail with google workspace is incredibly slow and won't load in my inbox.

Before reinstalling i did everything, cleared cache, compacted folders, changed to not have messages stored locally. What could I be doing? Is google workspace imap having trouble?

I installed the latest Thunderbird version last week, is this a version update problem? After a full reinstall of everything, I'm totally confused now. I've gone through my settings 10 times and spent 8 hours on this today. I used chatgpt to guide me and try different things. I'm stumped, please help. I'm a donor that supports Thunderbird!!! I stopped using Thunderbird in 2024 because of inability to change pw. I have same email accounts at comcast but would like to go back to Thunderbird. Currently using Comcast directly but loved TBird. I have a pw in use at comcast , how do I get Tbird to accept it for both email accounts on iphone and ios laptop?

I use thunderbird in conjunction with Firefox. Lately thunderbird will freeze. Mouse and all button work but cannot like read a email, delete a email ect. Any thoughts? Go to task manager and end task and all good. But its getting like 3 times in a 1-4 hour period now.

On my PC Thunderbirds sending/receiving mail says the mail server refused my connection. My laptop works fine. I have duplicated my laptops in/out specifications onto the PC but still nothing works. Spectrum says everything on their end is fine but can't vouch for roadrunner who is the rr in my mail address of ca.rr.com. All this started about 4 days ago. Any ideas on what to try next? Thanks.

I looked at the helps and found the answer to my issue BUT it didn't work.

The issue - I want to copy information from one address book to another book. The help told me to use CTRL then click and drag to copy. I tried but it didn't work. When I click on an address to move or copy it, as soon as I move the cursor a red circle with a diagonal line through it shows and it doesn't move it to the new address book. I am using windows 11 and Tbird 140.7.1. I've done this in the past - years ago - but now I can't figure out how to do it. Earlier in this session I was able to move an address by doing click and drag but I can't even do that now. I also rebooted my computer and tried again with the same results. I'm sure it's OPERATOR ERROR but I don't know what I did or what to do now.

I don't want to manually copy each entry. What do I do?

I am trying to set up the latest version on Thunderbird on my wife's old Gateway (WIN 7 home premium). The previous version of TB has problems so I deleted it and am starting over. I have manually configured this TB with the server info from the TB accounts on our other computers, but get the error as stated above. What do I need to check?

Hi, I recently installed Thunderbird (POP account type), but it only downloaded about 3000 emails and then stopped, even though I have a lot more emails I would like to archive. It's been about 2 days since no more downloads have occurred. Ive got no way of knowing if it's a temporary pause or what the issue is.

I installed Thunderbird to archive my emails as I intend to delete some older emails from google work space to clear up space, but I want to still have an offline archive of these email.

I inadvertently deleted a mail sub folder named Shopping Oder Confirmations I found the folder in my acronis backup and copied it to my desktop I then pasted it in to the profile window of thunderbird in hopes that when i restarted it would show up in my mail folders which it did not I can send you screen shots of the different windows where I dropped the folder Can you help please?! When using Thunderbird 140 I am able to setup the background color of the message pane for individual messages. However when the messages are threaded, the message pane shows a preview of all of the threaded messages together in the message pane with a different background color than individual messages.

Something changed, but I don't know what. I can not receive nor send emails on my PC Spectrum email account. I can receive and send them on my iPhone and iPad. I've changed the configurations, but no luck. I'm using the password saved on my iPhone to log into Spectrum/Charter.net Any suggestions? Thank you!

I have Mozilla Thunderbird and I find that some emails particularly with attachments (but not always) disappear from my inbox after a few months and I can't find them by doing a search under the sender's name or in my inbox.

As an example my most important emails come from 2 sources. One is an accountancy practice and the other a property management company. Those from the accountancy practice are nearly always missing after a few months but those from the management company rarely are.

If I carry out a search on the accountancy practice name, nearly all of the emails in the list are ones that I have sent and the only way I can find a particular email is to look at the trail before my email, but by doing so there are no attachments with their email. If I then look at the date of their email in the trail and then search for the date in my inbox, the email isn't there.

I have a dozen other folders that appear like this with the letters/numbers at the end. When I delete them they reappear next time I open Thunderbird.

Are these folders corrupt? 
How do I eliminate them ?  
How do I stop folders from reappearing?

I have a relatively fresh install of Thunderbird and am unable to save email addresses to my address books. When I click "Add to Address Book," I'm receiving the following error message:
