I am trying to migrate my Thunderbird account from PC Windows 10 to a new PC Windows 11. The installation selects my provider and settings correctly but when I try and sign in, I get the above message. I have not the first idea where to start there. any help would be appreciated. I still have a copy on a windows 11 laptop that I can use to enter settings, but I can't get that far with the installation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use Thunderbird for three accounts; the business I own, my other work, and my personal account. Everything was working smoothly until we migrated the business I own from Namecheap to Zoho and added it back to Thunderbird. I have two accounts on Zoho, a role-based group account (info@mydomain) and a user account (myname@mydomain). It still shows up as three accounts, on my left folder pane, with those two emails set up as identities within a single account. Today I have been trying to archive emails and it is not working across any of my accounts, not my other work nor my personal account. The archive button simply does nothing. I tried changing the settings in Copies and Folders- everything is set up right. I looked in the Config editor and saw that archive_enabled and three other configurations only existed for one of the four identities and were completely missing (not just switched to false) for the others. I added those configurations back, but nothing is working. What happened? And how do I fix it?

Returned from a 1-month trip and my Windows11 would load - repair didn't fix it, so I had to reload Windows.
Now I'm unable to right-click on a photo and send it via my Thunderbird email. When I right-click on 'Send to', there's no email option showing.

I tried to connect my user on my Online Accounts on Linux Mint, but it said: Authentication Failed, so i tried to open my accounts and send a message to myself. The message is sent and it appears a little window that says: Your Messages was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can try or save the messages locally to Local Folders/Sent-(my e-mail name).
Same happens with Troubleshoot Mode and I don't think it's a connection error, so what is the file access error in here?
How do I set up Thunderbird to download all messages from the email server and then delete any messages over 30 days on the server?

I have a problem with Thunderbird which might be a bit niche but here goes...
The first attempt at sending an email fails as TLS Record Layer v1 is used, the mail server sees this and hard resets the connection so sending halts. See attached Wireshark trace screenshot "Failed".
If I retry the send again Thunderbird uses TLS Record Layer v1.3 and the email goes out ok. See attached Wireshark trace screenshot "Success".
If I send another message immediately no problem but if I wait 20-30 minutes the above cycle happens again.
I have set the minimum TLS version in the config to 1.3 (option 4) and restarted Thunderbird but this has not changed anything.
Any ideas how I can fix this? It's a pain because automated replies don't work.

I have to manually move them back to the inbox more than once per day. Help! I have had a lot of problems with Tbird since having to re download the program since my last hard drive failed. iMac 24Gb M4 Chip macOS Tahoe 26.4
When I request a search through Unified Folders Inbox for 10 email addresses using Quick Filter, CPU goes to 80% or more, and response is 10-15 seconds. Main search appears to be ok. Only add-on was a printer service but has been disabled and problem still remains. In troubleshooting mode, search still causes high CPU, even though I can only search one email address. Just started about 2-3 days ago (around 17-18 June).
Any ideas?

I have thunderbird downloaded on my PC and would like to be able to access my emails normally sent to my Apple address ending in @Mac.com. I have tried to set this up on my own with no success, so I turned to ChatGPT and spent 4 hours going down the rabbit hole that is AI. Total waste of time!!!! Now turning to, probably, where I should have gone to in the first place, you guys!! I don't need to access calendars or contacts etc just the email. Can someone who maybe has done this using the @Mac.com email address give me some step by step instructions on how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks👍 Kev

Suddenly no messages appear after May 2014 I have logged in directly to the mail server, and all the missing messages are definitely on the server. I have checked the local filters, none are set. I have tried properties/repair. I have tried removing ~/.thunderbird/xxx/ImapMail/mail.myserver.com.au/INBOX.sbd/purchases.msf
Could it be a problem with dovecot indexing on the server? all the other subfolders seem to work fine. It's just this one.

I have no viruses, trojans, etc. I deleted one of the accounts and tried reinstalling it. I can't do it anymore. The system keeps responding: "Unable to authenticate to the server. A change I find very bothersome is that when I now search the calendar (All Events) the results return a separate entry for each occurrence of a recurring event instead of just the one definition of the recurring event. How do I make the search behave as it did previously? I have dozens of recurring events that recur weekly and have been using Thunderbird for over a decade... I am staring at hundreds of duplicate search results which also temporarily freezes the app while they load in. This is not a functional design.
