Hi, It's now impossible to add lilo.org search engine in firefox mobile for my new android device (android 16, firefox 155.0.1). Now when I try to add it (please check screenshot), I have an error message : "Check that search string matches Example format" The query string is https://search.lilo.org/?q=%s and on my previous android device (Android 13, firefox mobile 155.0.1) I still have it setup as the default search engine, and I just tried to add it again on this device and I don't have this blocking error message. In China Mainland,The Google play server is baned by China govmnet. But in mozilla firefox download page,the android version firefox download way only for Googleplay. i kown can to https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/ to download firefox apk,but too many i can't understand english word mean.When i read https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/latest/README.txt,i try to download URL https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-esr-latest&os=android-api-9&lang=zh-CN,it return 404 not found.

Silly design/UX choice: There is an option to add a 'private browsing' home screen app icon shortcut. The problem with it: if you go into private mode and close the app after, the app always starts in private mode until you manually change it (it's 1 extra tap but annoying, there should be a setting to keep state or set a default to normal browsing... (Or either option)) As a software designer, simple things like this really get on my nerves...

Whenever I do a search, the default setting for Desktop is set to On. This makes the results too small for me to read. This requires me to change the Desktop setting to Off. How do I change the Desktop default setting to Off?

On current Firefox & Android, why do I have to turn on VPN every time I open Firefox, if an app redirects a url to Firefox the VPN is off, also what is the Mozilla url I can check I'm connected via VPN? Thank you.

I just activated the built-in VPN for the Firefox browser on Android. How do I change the location? ie. I'm in Australia but want the internet to think I'm in the UK...

The Firefox built-in VPN option appeared for me about a week ago, maybe two; I don’t know whether it only just reached me in the rollout, or whether Firefox highlighted it because of the “more bandwidth” promotion. Either way, I activated it. But then, three days ago, I noticed that my browsing was no longer going through a VPN, and that the VPN settings had all disappeared from Firefox.

I’m in Australia. I’m signed into my Firefox account. I’ve tried signing out and back in; restarting this device; and doing as many steps from the Support article “Unable to find the built-in VPN in Firefox” as I could, given that it gives instructions for desktop Firefox, not Android. In particular, I removed one study—not the one named in the article, but a different one with “holdback” in the name (something like “long term holdback H1”).

Good morning. I am running Firefox Mobile v. 155.0 on Android 16. I am using the built in 50GB VPN. However when I close the browser as opposed to minimizing it so it is not running constantly when I again open it the VPN is now set to off and has to manually be turned on every time. I went into the app settings and allowed Firefox unrestricted usage and the app is allowed to run in the background. Neither method works and I am trying to see if anyone has any suggestions as far as settings of possible workarounds. Or if other users are having the same issue. I do not want to pay for the Firefox VPN and do not want to use another paid or free program, if that helps.

I am in Bogota Colombia visiting my family and want to book a flight Bogota to Santa Marta but Mozilla doesn't allow me to book in colombian pesos but in American doblarse as if I was the US at the moment.

I'd like to try out the built-in VPN, but can't find it. I've seen many older posts about this, but nothing recent. It's now August of 2026.

I'm using Firefox 154.0.1 on Android 16. I'm in the United States.

I'm logged into my browser with my Firefox account. I know it's working as I can open browser tabs between my mobile device and other devices using my account.

I'm not seeing the built-in VPN feature.

"VPN" does not appear in Settings as described in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mobile-android-vpn

By comparison, attached is a screenshot of what I have in Settings > Privacy and Security.

Any guidance?

It is not a problem, but I would like to know why did my Firefox app (phone) change its logo and name to "Firefox Preview". Was it me that accidentally activated it?

I have the "Block AI Features" setting enabled, but I'm still getting the "Ask Gemini" option in the long-hold context menu for Firefox Mobile on Android.

Is there any way to remove this option? It's cluttering the context menu and I dont want to misclick it. Or otherwise, is this a known and tracked issue?
