Where sis my bookmarks go. I don't have time to screw around with hunting it down. It was here yesterday. Today it is gone. I've tried to restart, I've tried help, I've tried all the list of things but the bookmark on the header thingy has disappeared.

I own three laptops and they are in my Firefox account and synced. I have several bookmarks for site I frequently visit. On two laptops, based on my settings, when I tap a bookmark it opens up in its own tab. This is how I want these to function. For some reason, my third laptop does not behave in this manner. The new bookmark opens up on the tab I am currently in. It gets bumped and the new bookmark opens. This is exactly how I do not want it to perform. What is going on? Also, when I set up settings doesn't it work for all my laptops since I am signed in?

When I choose to bookmark a website, I am no longer offered a chance to save to where I want it saved.

So, now I have to bookmark a page, and open the bookmark menu again to EDIT the bookmark to move it. This is Horrible. I have to do this eachj time I bookmark a page. I am veriy organized and have dozens of bookmark folder, some with folders within folders... etc.

Onliy children need to be treated this way.

I have searched the settings and find nothing. I am not using any add-on that has anything to do with bookmark. I do not use the bookmark toolbars or other bookmark interfaces. Just the file/edit... menu "bookmarks" option.,

Has this ability been removed?

Still not always saving a page to my selected folder. However, if after clicking the "Star", I first select the location "Show your bookmarks", then to back to to selecting the folder into which I wish to save the page, it will then put that page into the folder of my choice. What settings do I need to have in place so that I do not have to do this double step to get the system to save a page in my selected folder? Let me know if I should just start over, uninstall Fire Fox, I have saved all my book marks and exported in the two formats, then reinstall the program. Thanks in advance for any solution. JJE

All of a sudden I can no longer add bookmarks to my Firefox desktop. At this point I can not even access the "Bookmark current tab." Are there settings that control the Bookmarks section. Thank you

My bookmarks toolbar is showing, but it's empty. All of my bookmarks are gone.

I went to a websites and attempted to add it to my bookmarks toolbar, but Firefox failed to add it to my toolbar.

Ever since the last update I've been having an issue with my bookmark bar. I like to have it visible. But lately I will be browsing the internet try to click on my usual bookmark and it's not there! All the bookmarks in my toolbar are missing. They have not been deleted but have all been moved to not in my toolbar and I have to go fish them out. After I fix it time will pass and I notice it happens again! It's super annoying. Since this times well with the last update I blame the update. Can you either tell me how to get my bookmarks to stop dancing around or guide me to downgrading my version of firefox?

Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message. I fixed it 2 days ago thanks to your method and today I find myself in the same situation once more... And I confess I"m fed up. Not the only issue with Firefox (like denied access to many webpages) although I share its values and then I'll be giving up !

I had privacy and security set to clear all sites and cookies upon closing Fire Fox. When I formerly clicked the "Star" on Search in tool bar, with the "Show Editor when Saving" checked I then choose the folder to which I wish to save the Web Page. By unchecking the clear all, I thought I had the problem repaired. No, Today when saving a new page it does not appear in my folder of choice. It does show in "Recently Book Marked", the "gear" symbol. I have refreshed Fire Fox, replaced my settings from the Customize Tool Bar, but still not functioning. How does one reset Fire Fox to save to the folder of choice? I am not aware of what settings I have changed. I can export all to off site, but where does the system keep them, I think it does? I have over 4000 book marks. Is there some limit? Thank, JJE

Since yesterday, I have not been able to add new bookmarks. I want to add two new ones. (I can update or delete bookmarks.) I have read and tried the solution article (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-add-change-or-save-bookmarks), but the fix did not work for me. I am using Windows 11 Pro (fully updated) and Firefox 143.0.1 (64-bit). By the way, Brave is my secondary browser. I can add the two new bookmarks in it without problems. Could someone provide a solution other than the one in the article that I have cited? Again, that solution did not work for me. Thank you.
