Bookmarks will not save correctly

Whenever I save a page, it takes two attempts to save correctly. 1st attempt, the page is saved to my bookmarks menu, despite selecting another folder. 2nd attempt, the page save correctly to the folder selected. I was wondering if anyone knew how get my browser back to one save attempt. Thanks for your help!
