I'm getting a notice to download firefox beta is this something new?
when I try to download this update it asks me to disable my norton security in order to download it. i'm a little leary of disabling norton for obvious reasons. i just wanted to know if this is a legitimate download from firefox or if it may be a virus. it has been asking me for about a week or so and it says it's a betw 29 version or possibly a 28 version... i can't remember exactly... is this something firefox is sending out right now and is it safe?
thank you barry smith

Mozilla will never ask you to disable your security program(s).
This is most likely a scam.
If this was a message on a website, please provide the link.
If this was an on-screen Firefox popup, please scan your computer for infection.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
