Sync Outlook.com calendar with Firefox OS Calendar App

Posted

I am a noob to Firefox OS but can't seem to sync/import my outlook.com calendar with my ZTE Open. There is option for Google, Yahoo! and Caldav. I couldn't find any answers in other forums so posted new question here. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. Minimal jargon please! :-)

Hello,

Can you please confirm the version of the Firefox OS you are using on the phone. As per the latest release Release notes FFOS 1.1, Outlook.com calendars are supported.

If you are trying to synch native Exchance (EAS 2003/2010/2012), that is still not supported as per this bug Outlook calendar support for FFOS

Based on your response we can assist you further.

Thank you

Hi gnittala, thanks for replying. Under "Device Information" it was software is OPEN_EU_DEV_FFOS_V1.0.0B01

I have no idea what the second part of your reply means unfortunately. I am using outlook.com for my emails and calendar. Emails sync on the phone but no support that I can see for calendar.

Thanks again for your help.

Hello,

Am very sorry I sent a wrong response. I apologize. The support for FFOS 1.1 was for Outlook contacts and not calendar.

Could you please confirm the error you are seeing when you try to import calendar using the Caldav option for the outlook.com calendar Adding Calendars to FFOS

Again, apologize for the mistake.

Thank you

Hi, how would I use the Caldav option? I type my outlook.com username, and my outlook.com password...but what do I put in the URL box? m.outlook.com does not work. Error message is "Something is wrong. Try again later". I can't find a step-by-step caldav guide for outlook.com online.

Hello,

it is likely that outlook.com calendar is not supported on FFOS because of the bug I mentioned earlier. Outlook.com doesn't seem to be supporting Caldav and hence the limitation.

I am investigating more and will update this support question with the information I can find.

Thank you

The Outlook calendar is currently not available to be imported into the calendar application. Our developers, engineers and other Firefox OS volunteers and employees are working hard to make this happen. Please check when a new update is available for your device to see if Outlook Calendar is supported then.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
