how do I uninstall gmail notifier from browser

I operate windows 8, I want to uninstall the gmail notifier, I have tried several ways but can.t find any instruction as to how I can do this, goggle help suggests that it is in the control panel in programmes but it is not I think that this is because its windows 8 can you help me get rid of it

Thank you for responding so quickly to my question, I had just however found excatly what you had told me and removed the notifier after hours of trying over the last day or so..................I do appreciate your time in doing this for me...................

hello lizbee, gmail notifier is a firefox extension that you can remove from firefox > addons > extensions: Disable or remove Add-ons
