I had avast security; it sandboxed or reset mozilla and I cannot even uninstall it after removing avast from my computer. How do I fix this on Windows XP?
I recently installed avast and it either sandboxed or reset mozilla, which no longer works. I removed avast from my computer, but still cannot correct the problem. I contacted avast and was told to purchase their '365 remote assistance' for $169.00; on a fixed income, I cannot afford such a price. Additionally, I cannot uninstall/remove mozilla through the add/remove listing. How can I uninstall mozilla so that I can reinstall it? My operating system is Windows XP [2003] I am not a computer 'geek' so please give straight forward answers. Many thanks.

Can you install FIrefox over it? And i disbelive the 160$ tech support from anyone.
Download the good firefox from - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
And scan for malware with all programs.
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner

Thank you W_F_Flame, I reinstalled over Mozilla and it seems to be working now. As to your remark about "disbelieving" the price for the 365 avast program, I can assure you that is EXACTLY the price quoted---as a senior citizen, I learned long ago as a small child that lying doesn't pay or do anyone any good.
