How to make some visual Ubuntu Firefox components look like Windows Firefox components.

I would like to know how to make some of the visual components ( such as the buttons for Tab Groups, Feeds, Etc...) in the Ubuntu Firefox look like the Windows equivelants. True, I could live with the Ubuntu look, but I prefer the Windows look. Thanks to anyone who knows how to do this, and I prefer to do this without addons (not that I dislike addons, I just prefer less CPU and RAM usage, as well as digging deeper than addons).

You want the theme to look like a Windows default theme? The easiest way would be to use a theme, which does not make much demand on the CPU. Unfortunately, the only themes I could find in the Mozilla Addons site have not been updated to Firefox 22. You could get around that by editing the install.rdf file in the .jar file and increasing the number for the max version for the target application, or disabling the compatibility checking for addons, but either is a bit of a hassle.

Thanks, I`ll try it out. And hassle or no hassle, it doesn`t matter to me, since I want to learn these things. Actually, the harder it is, and the deeper it goes, the better it is for me.

In the end, I`m using a Windows 8 theme (MZ8 Firefox Windows 8 Theme), although I`m still checking out your way. And for some strange reason, this theme shows up as not compatible with Linux, although it works perfectly well. Thank you very much for your help, it really helped me.

Probably the author only uses Windows to check the theme. I use 5 themes from an author that uses only Windows, and has marked them as for only Windows. They work well with Mac Firefox. Of course, when I check for updates to add-ons, I get no notification that they have been updated, since they are for the "wrong platform". I have to check the addons site for updates to those.
