I have tried to change the file association, with no luck.As you can see the ,"do this automatically for files like this from now" is blanked out. There should be no reason why FF starts at all, because the XPS files are on the desktop and FF is not open.I tried to reset FF to its default with no luck.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Hi,

You may have to change the setting for .xps in Windows Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program. The Windows support would also be helpful.

I have already tried that with no success. My problem is that FF opens first then xps viewer.FF should not even be opening when I want to just view an XPS file

Did you check the .xps key in the registry?

Hi Thanks for your reply. I did search in the registry and found nothing.Of course I don't know much about the registry, so all I looked for was anything linking FF to xps viewer with no luck.
