A secure web site that I'm trying to veiw keeps giving me a measage on some of it's pages: "This application only works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and above or Google Chrome 12.0 and above." Is there a FireFox solution?
This secure site loads all windows no problem on my Windows XP and Windows 7 PC's but not on my MacBook Pro.

The SPAR website works fine for me with Firefox, the only thing that doesn't work for me on that entire website is the image upload (which uses ActiveX) for the merchandiser assignments that require images. And haven't had a job that required images in over 6 months. (I used the UserAgent Switcher add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/ - to make the website think I was using Firefox.) For jobs that require pictures I was use IE 8.0 for doing those reports. But you're kinda SOL with having an Apple computer and you will have to use Chrome.
Whatever fixin' needs to be done is going to have to be done by SPAR IT. Mozilla has never used ActiveX and will never use it. I am curious how they managed to get Chrome to work there, because Chrome doesn't do ActiveX either. They must be using a different plugin for image uploading; and if they are, why can't they use that same setup for Firefox and allow merchandisers use Firefox. Not that I care, I'll be done with them in a few months - worst job I have ever had.

Thanks for your help edmeister, I got a faster response to this problem from you then SPAR IT. I tried the User-Agent-Switcher but didn't have any luck with it. I could've sworn there was a solution, when my company was bought by SPAR they sent out a email about a plugin but I didn't pay attention since I wasn't using MAC. I was trying to avoid switching back and forth between Windows IE and Firefox but I guess that's the real solution here till SPAR IT changes (which won't happen any time soon)
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with SPAR, I've worked for them for over 6 years and enjoy it. I just think the pay could be better for what I do, but don't we all.
