does the second computer have to be on the internet for sync to work?

have not set it up yet- can't connect both laptop-2nd to desk top- that is the question

You need to enter the name and password and sync key manually if you do not have the other device attached to give you an access code.

No. Firefox Sync doesn't sync directly between devices. The Sync server sits in the middle and each device connects to the Sync server.

i think i know what you said BUT my computer skills are up to the position of smokesignals.

so i connect both to sync using the instructions and when computer 2 is on the internet it will have my bookmarks.
