I currently have a Blackberry which I am going to get rid of for a variety of reasons including its inability to sync. Can you recommend a phone whereby I will be able to sync with my desktop easily? Also, does Firefox sync with Ipad's?

Firefox mobile runs on Android phones running Android 2.0 and higher. You should check against the list of supported devices. If it is not on that list there is a reasonable chance the Android phone will not work with Firefox.
General rule of thumb to check if the device is supported
- 1ghz (1000mhz) processor or greater
- 512 MB RAM or greater
