Why is Firefox opening a new window for certain links?

I just updated Firefox to 6.02 and I am having an issue with certain links opening in a new window. The one in particular is the forum tab for Slashkey (Farmtown on Facebook), although it has happened on a few others as well. That particular link used to always open in a new tab by default although I have no idea why. Now it opens in a completely new window when left clicking on it. I have checked my prefs and tried a couple other fixes but the only way to get these links to open in a new tab instead of a window is through the right click menu.
