I seem to open always new tabs instead of closing one. the 2 signs are too close together and also have no colors. in the 3.6 version the close buttonX used to be red.

Chosen solution

If you don't like it, just hide it in the Palette. Silly to quit using Firefox 4.0 over something that is so damn easy to "fix".

Drag the + that is on the right-side of the tab bar when you're in the Customize mode into the Customize Palette. (The + that appears next to an open tab can't be moved - you want the other +.)

Yes, the reply was helpfull, BUT I really DO NOT like this huge " + button" I give it a try for a few days then either go back to a previous version of fox or change completely to another browser thanks for your kind input

cheers, i don't know about the Palette, but you pointed me in the right direction, in tools/options/ tabs i simply unticked the "always show the tab bar."

I am a happy chappy now.

Where is this Palette you keep referring to? I'd like to add the + sign to my Tab bar.

Aehhhmm, not really, because we are moaning about the TAB bar, not the toolbar................ :)

I have abandoned the use of firefox 4 as i had too many crashes. I have gone back to 3.6 version, there at least the X that closes a tab is in a bright red..

Maybe later I might revisit no.4
