I want to stop it going to OpenDNS when I type a word in the url area. I want it to go to Google.

I have changed the keyword.URL to http://www.google.com.my/search?q=

But this only works for terms with a space in it. For example: Typing: "word1 word2" will go to Google Typing: "word" Goes to OpenDNS

Furthermore... If I type in "eBay" it will take me to eBay.com (as I would expect) but if I type in another site like "tip20" it goes to OpenDNS.

How do I fix this once and for all.

Why are you using OpenDNS as your DNS server if you do not want to use it's services to redirect you?

Use a keyword search via the location bar.
You can add a keyword to a search engine if you click the search engine icon on the search bar and open Manage Search Engines. Select a search engine and click the "Edit Keyword" button. You can use a one letter keyword like g for Google.
Then you can type g word or g word1 word2 in the location bar to do a search.

I really appreciate the reply. I tried what you said and it had no effect. Do I really have to type in the .com after everything in the location bar to avoid going to OpenDNS? Even typing in FireFox took me straight to OpenDNS. Can I block OpenDNS altogether?

Thanks, Tom

Where does Firefox reference OpenDNS anyway? If I put in the Google over-ride why wouldn't it go to Google? It's like it FF just ignores it?

I think I'm going to give Safari another try. It's a shame too, I've always preferred FF. :-(

I have never selected OpenDNS as a server. Apparently it put itself there. All I want to know is how to stop it.

I'll read at the link you posted.

God! Thank you cor-el for that link! I don't know why this information is so unbelievably hard to find on the web!!

I found my solution here: http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/
