Whenever I open Firefox and go to a web site it freezes and I have to shut it down. This just started yesterday.

Up until yesterday my Firefox worked fine. I went to a web site and it froze. I kept trying to close and re-open it and it kept saying it was sorry, did I want to restore the previous session or start over. No matter what I chose, it froze and I had to force a shut down. I changed the home page back to the default page which it will open, I have erased the history, but still every time I try to go to any web site it freezes and I have to force a shut down. I have tried to download it again, and I have tried to restore my computer to an earlier date. Nothing seems to help.
