I had to uninstall 4.0 and ended up deleting my bookmarks. I am extremely pissed. Is there anyway to restore them?

You can try using a file recovery program like Recuva to recover your bookmarks file, which is named places.sqlite.

You would probably have more chance of success if you try to undelete a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder. Places.sqlite s a binary file and can get quite large. A JSON backup is a text file and you can check its contents in a text editor.
