EVERY time I use firefox, it has a new update available. Can I please tell you how goddamned annoying this is? I think it's on version 3.5.13 right now. DID YOU REALLY NEED TO RELEASE THIRTEEN FREAKING VERSIONS OF VERSION 3.5?!?! Give me a break.

Would you mind PLEASE saving your updates until it's at least major enough to warrant a tenth-of-a-version-number, as in, from 3.5 to 3.6, etc? Is that really too much to freakin ask?

Firefox does not update every day, typically it is about every 6-8 weeks unless there is an urgent security/stability fix. As for the updates, they are necessary as they nearly all fix security or stability issues. If you do not want updates you can turn them off. On the Firefox menu select Preferences. On the Preferences dialog go to the Advanced panel and then the Update tab. De-select the options for Firefox to automatically check for updates.

Your user agent indicates that you are using Firefox 3.5.9, if you are using 3.5.13 you need to reset your user agent string, for details see How to reset the default user agent on Firefox. If after correcting your useragent string you still get reports of updates, see updates reported when running newest version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html

Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.

Install the new version that you have downloaded.

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

You may also need to "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window.
