I'm trying to do something about the fact that I only have this one wallpaper showing on my desktop while I have actually collected a bunch of sweet wallpapers. Instead of having to manually decide which wallpaper is showing at any startup, I have created a simple python script that can choose the file for me, and all I need is a way to apply the image as a wallpaper. I was hoping to find a firefox command line option, or utility, that would allow me to use the "Set as desktop background" feature that comes with the browser, but from the command line. Is there a way to do this? If not, it would be a pretty cool enhancement, since the functionality is already there, and works so well.

I am not sure if I have understood your question correctly. But if you are looking for a command line way of changing wall paper we can do so by changing registry settings. Check this link How to change windows wallpaper from command line
