Why problem with firefox in reading e-mails

I am using Verizon high speed internet as my carrier to receive e-mails. When I open e-mails using internet explorer, the background is grey on the "subject" and "to" line after an e-mail is read. If I use firefox to look at e-mails, the list of e-mails read still is in bold print, so it is difficult to remember which ones have been read at a session. If I go out of firefox completely, and then go back in, the e-mails display will be in grey for those that were read previously. Chris, I tried to reply to your question, but had a problem getting answer through to you.
