Why are there 61 Firefox folders in Task Manager?
When I open Task Manager, it shows up to 61 Firefox subfolders under the main folder. It is chewing up memory and slowing my machine. Why?

Hello,
First, go to Firefox, then press Shift + Esc, then it will open a window showing each subprocess and which one is eating the most RAM. If it is a tab, then you can just close it to instantly free up more RAM.
Next, go to about:memory, and click the "Minimize memory usage" button, which will make Firefox, minimize memory.
After that, to reduce Firefox's RAM footprint even more, disable any outdated/faulty extensions, as they can be a major source of memory consumption. Next, go to menu>settings>performance, uncheck "Use recommended performance settings" and check "Use hardware acceleration when available". After that, restart Firefox.
Next, if you keep a lot of tabs open, try closing some or getting an extension to put them to sleep, which frees up the ram from that website.
