Why is it, that since this most recent update, my wireless headset causes youtube videos and shorts to load extremely slowly?

troy.vont

I have done thorough testing with other browsers, drivers for my headset, reinstallations and the common issue is the new firefox. when I change from my desktop speakers to my headset there has always been a slight delay in the crossover. however since the most recent update Firefox has made, Youtube shorts and videos dont load properly. this is only when using my headset. when you go to shorts, and scroll it will play them one after the next with no load time or at least very little. now however, it takes 10-15 seconds to load, but ONLY when i am using my wireless headset. Corsair Void Wireless Headset. I have done everything on my end, and after countless tests with other browsers it is only Firefox and has only starteed since the most recently update.

Hi troy.vont,

Since the problem only occurs in Firefox when your Corsair wireless headset is selected, and started after a recent Firefox update, it would be useful to check whether Firefox behaves the same way in Troubleshoot Mode. This temporarily disables extensions and some customizations.

Open the Firefox menu, select Help, then Troubleshoot Mode, and restart Firefox. Then test YouTube again with the headset connected.

If the videos still take 10–15 seconds to load, please let us know your Firefox version and Windows version. Since you've already tested other browsers and reinstalled the headset software/drivers, those details would also be useful for determining whether this is a Firefox regression.

Troubleshooting mode didn't change the issue. Still long delay before starting videos. still only happening with headset and not computer speakers.

OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Home Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631 System Model MS-7E10 System Type x64-based PC Firefox 157.0 (64-bit)

Chrome, OperaGX both work fine, but I prefer Firefox.

headset is the Corsair Void Max Wireless. Firmware version v.0.16.387. latest version, has not had update since this new Firefox browser change.

Speakers are Creative Pebble Pro.
