Previously downloading files did not close the source website. Now when downloading a file, the source website is closed. Requires logging into the source website for each file downloaded. How can closing the source website be stopped.

Hi

Do you have an example of a website where this is happening?

Most all websites where a user name and password is required. myaccount.hopegas.com lowes.sfy.com/commercial

Is there a Firefox setting that closes the website with a download? Previously this did not occur.

Not that I am aware of. Do you have an example where a website login is not required?

So you log into those sites, there is a document to download, you select to download the file, then the tab with the website in closes?

No login required: forrentwv.com. Downloaded file and website did not close. Login required: open a document like a statement or a bill, download or not downloaded, I cannot return to the website. Previously using Foxfire I was able to use the back arrow in the upper left to return to the website after opening a document. Now the arrow is not highlighted.

I can download a document that is on the website without leaving the website. If the document is opened in another part of the website, I cannot return to the main page of the website.

When using Microsoft Edge, a second tab appears at the top when I open a document. Closing the second tab returns me to the website. Using Foxfire, the original tab is replaced by the documents tab and I cannot return to the website.

I think I may have found the issue. Under Foxfire > settings > tabs > opening: check only the third box.

First box was checked when the problem occurred.
Checking only the third box eliminated the problem at least on one website.

Thank you.
