Hi,
You seem to be on 115 ESR, which may be the latest supported version for your OS. While it still receives security updates (and will get them at least until August 2026), it doesn't get new features and major changes, and the version number doesn't increase. Unfortunately, some websites may decide to stop supporting old Firefox versions like this. I believe the only thing you can do about it is upgrading your system if possible.
I also have this banner appearing across my gmail. However, my firefox says it is updated?!!
Mac OS users on OS X 10.12/10.13/10.14 have been moved to the 115 ESR update channel since your macOS X 10.14 platform no longer is supported (distributionID: mozilla-mac-eol-esr115), current releases require macOS 10.15 as a minimum.
Don't you have access to a mobile device that can run the gMail app or a more recent Firefox version?
Does everything that you use in gMail work for you ? As long as it works then you shouldn't worry although it is annoying, such a banner usually means that they haven't tested gMail in your browser version to guarantee that everything work, it can still stop working in the future.
I tried gMail in 115 and in a very old 78 version and I can open emails, haven't tried to compose and send mails and other features like filters and labels.
