On updating to linux mint 22.3 - cannot type anything in firefox in address box, search and primary password or anywhere else within firefox - have uninstalled & reinstalled but nothing happens

On further examination, I found that the keyboard letters and numbers were inoperable in all applications, not just firefox - in updating the OS, something broke. Problem resolved by restoring to a previous version.

What desktop? X11 or wayland? Have you tried under a different user account? Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla. Download, unzip, and run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
