Gray screen shown when I clink on any photo in "Your memories from this day" email from photos@onedrive.com
Hello,
This started happening recently, in the last 30 days. Gray screen is shown when I clink on any photo in "Your memories from this day" email from photos@onedrive.com. If I go to OneDrive, then select today's date the issue is the same.
I've tried the same actions in Chrome and the photos are shown without issues.
Can someone help with this?
Regards, Petar

Additional info: This happens on all PCs when using Firefox. I've tried deleting Site Data for onedrive.com, Private window, but still get the same gray screen.
Hi,
Thank you very much for reaching out! I've filed a bug report on that: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1987565
UPDATE 09-21-25: As of today, the "On This Day" collection is no longer in the 'Gallery' section in OneDrive Photos . It's now in the OneDrive Photos section called 'Moments' (for me, these section choices are at the top). The collection still is not accessible (i.e. still get the gray screen) via Firefox when I click on one of the pictures trying to see the whole collection.
09-09-25: A few more specific details on this anomaly:
1. In my OneDrive\Photos\Gallery area, under the "For You" section, I have 5 thumbnail clickable icons that previously would take me to the associated collection of photos. Of these 5, four of the collections are date/time-based, i.e. "On This Day" (which is where the "Your memories from this day" email link resolves to), "Revisiting August", "Last Week", and "Recent Moments". The fifth collection is location-based, i.e. "Indianapolis, United States". Only the date/time-based thumbnail collections exhibit the gray screen. Conversely, the location-based collection successfully loads. So it appears (at least for me) that the issue only occurs on the date/time-based collections. 2. As others mentioned, All "For You" collections successfully load in Edge, Chrome and also Opera and Safari. 3. The behavior does not happen on Firefox in iOS. All "For You" collections successfully load. In addition, the "Your memories from this day" email link also successfully resolves in Safari when accessed using iOS email. 4. I run HP Wolf Pro Security as my Virus & Threat Protection software which gives me the option to right-click on a link to open it in HP Wolf Pro's Secure Browser. In Firefox, when I right-click to use Wolf Pro's Secure Browser, all "For You" collections successfully load. 5. Private Browsing in Firefox results in the same faulty behavior as regular browsing. 6. Disabling my Virus & Threat Protection software does not change the behavior. 7. Clearing Firefox Cache & Cookies does not change the behavior. 8. Refreshing Firefox does not change the behavior. 9. Uninstalling/Reinstalling Firefox does not change the behavior.

Hi swbff,
Thank you for sharing this! I've included your first observation in the bug, as it may help in discovering the root of the issue.
UPDATE 09-21-25: Microsoft says they have "no direct channel" to work with Mozilla Firefox. Here is what was reported by Microsoft Support (condensed for brevity): "Even though the URLs are just strings, the generation process and how the browser handles them is complex and browser-dependent. That’s why this issue is likely Firefox-specific, and not a fault in Microsoft’s URL generation logic especially since it works fine in other browsers."
09-13-25: Just as an FYI, I opened a ticket with Microsoft OneDrive Support last week prior to posting here. Microsoft Support got back with me and reported that it was a Mozilla Firefox issue. I replied back asking if there was any way they, Microsoft, could reach out to Mozilla Firefox, company-to-company, in an effort to perhaps expedite a resolution. Can't hurt to try.
Modified
My Firefox got updated yesterday but they still haven't solved the 'grey screen' bug.
Just FYI, there is another thread on this problem at https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1536973 (unsolved).
Hi,
The issue is currently fixed in Firefox 145, which is in Nightly. This version's release is scheduled for November 11, but I'll let you know in case the fix is deployed in one of the earlier versions.
Hi again,
The issue should now be fixed in Firefox 144, which is in Beta. This version's release is scheduled for October 14.
