How do I roll back firefox android to a version prior to the redesign?

I've tried disabling it with the secret menu and it makes no difference. Seeing as Mozilla don't give a singular toss about the needs of their neurodivergent users I want to install an old version of firefox for android with a version of the UI that doesn't make me want to self harm. I know how to disable android updates but not install an old version safely. How do I do this?

Attached a screenshot of the new UI. As an aside if anyone can recommend the drugs that the people who designed and approved this ugly tosh are on I'd love to know what they are, must be good stuff for them all to make decisions this asinine.

Chosen solution

If you turned on secret menus, could you go into Nimbus Experiments and see whether you can switch off the menu change there? I still have the old menu in Firefox 142, even though there are two menu redesign items, so can't figure out whether they do anything.

Hi

You could sideload an older version from the archive, but I would be very hesitant to recommend it as it would involve disabling an important security control on your Android device and would either lead to Firefox updating to what you have now or would not update - again a security issue.

Hi Paul, that sounds like the best solution, thank you! If Firefox can't maintain a consistent interface I guess I'll just have to deal with whatever the security risks are. I'm tired of this trend of screwing with autistic users because some dafty wanted to shake things up visually for no good reason. How do I proceed?

THANK YOU! You prompted me to start fiddling with the secret menu settings again. Previously I'd disabled the Nimbus stuff in the actual secret settings and that didn't appear to do anything, it looks like the settings I needed to disable where in the separate Nimbus Experiments menu x.x

For anyone else who wants rid of that eyesore of a menu the two settings you need to turn off seem to be Jetpack-Compose RELEASE and Android Menu Redesign Release. You might need to kill the firefox process (or just restart your phone) to see the return of the objectively more user-friendly menu

The old menu is SO much better <3
