excess bookmarks

I have lots of unused bookmarks and I cant seem to remove them. I right click on a bookmark expecting a menu to open with an option to delete but all that happens is it goes to the web site. How can I remove bookmarks, any suggestions will be appreciated. Adrian

Just to clarify, are you using Firefox for Android or Firefox on a desktop or laptop computer?
