Help reload Bookmarks from backup json file
My Mozilla Firefox bookmarks are Bookmarks 2025-07-22.JSON. They worked well on my older Dell computer. I bought a new Dell desktop computer. I am disgusted with Google. My bookmarks on my C Drive. If you can't help me reload those bookmarks, I may as well decide to delete Firefox and use another such as Total Browser. I certainly hope you will help me load 2025-07-22.JSON on my new computer - it is ridiculous that Firefox wants to put in the full address on the C Drive instead of simply loading those. On Firefox on my last computer I used News which was bookmarked Daily Wire, Epoch Times, Salem News Channel, God's World News, One America News, Washington Times, New York Sun, and local Sterling Virginia Weather. I also use biography sites https://www.Worldhistory.org and Britannica.com [both of which I pay for monthly, as https://www.wikipedia.org/. I also have a Biography folder with names from A to Z I also have many music folders 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990's, 2000s, Music group and singers A to Z, Blues music, Bluegrass, Christian Alternative Music, Country classic, Country & Western Gospel, Folk Singers, Jazz, Motown, Soul and many others which I have gathered over the past 10 years

Hi Stephen, is "Bookmarks 2025-07-22.JSON" a backup file you created yourself using the Backup feature? Assuming so, you can use the Restore feature to replace the current set of Firefox bookmarks you see with the ones in your backup.
The restore steps are in the article "Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer" but here are the highlights:
(1) Open the Library window using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+O (as in Organizer)
- menu button > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
- (menu bar or Alt+B) > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
(2) Click the "Import and Backup" menu heading
(3) Click "Restore"
(4) Click "Choose file"
Firefox should open a Windows file browser. In the file browsing window, go to your desktop (or wherever you saved "Bookmarks 2025-07-22.JSON") and double-click "Bookmarks 2025-07-22.JSON" so Firefox loads it.
Then check the various categories in the left column to confirm that the restore was successful.
How does it look?
Jason, i tried to open the firefox.html document in settings and it didn't work where is the library window on my desktop?
Hi Stephen, the Library window is a feature within Firefox. One of these methods should work while you are viewing this site, for example:
- Ctrl+Shift+O (as in Organizer)
- menu button > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
- (menu bar or Alt+B) > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
Once you have the Library window open, then you can continue with the "Import and Backup" menu.
