Bookmarks import said 0 imported?

more options

Hello, I just used the Firefox 141.0 (aarch64) wizard for Raspberry Pi OS 1.0, to import bookmarks from Brave, however the wizard said 0 bookmarks imported.

I also manually exported and imported the bookmarks.html file and the latest bookmarks aren't appearing at the top. It seems the bookmarks are nested in some bookmarks directory by default. I'm confused?

Also I tried a manual import several months ago but same issue about some strange nesting structure rather than simply appearing at the top. Now I'm really confused and worried I'll lose my bookmarks as there's about 3 version in various nested structures. Please help just make an easy move to Firefox.

Chosen solution

I solved this by manually exporting the old browser's bookmarks, manually importing into Firefox. Then manually dragging and dropping the Firefox Bookmarks Library, with folders to the correct Toolbar so bookmarks show until a website is selected. Quite a hassle and unclear why Firefox doesn't have Toolbar bookmarks as the default.

When you import from a file, the whole set may be added in a new folder at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu or in Other Bookmarks. You can use the Library window (Manage Bookmarks or Ctrl+Shift+O as in Organizer) to reorganize your bookmarks to your preferred locations (either drag-and-drop or cut-and-paste).
