Many links will not open except in a new tab
Windows 11, v23H2
After the last update, I have a problem opening some links just with a left click. Most open fine, but on some sites, I can open the site fine, but all other links have to be opened in a new tab. Sometimes, I can't even get that menu to come up, so I have to save the link URL and open it in a new tab manually.
I have my browser set to open all tabs in a new window, so that's not the problem.
It's very annoying, especially when I'm trying to get something done quickly.
How do I fix this? TIA

On problem sites, clicking a link causes... nothing to happen at all? I noticed on the add-ons list you shared that there are at least three directed at pop-ups:
- Popup Blocker (strict)
- Popup Blocker Ultimate
- PopUpOFF - Popup and overlay blocker
On the sites where you have problems, do those extensions give you a way to make an exception so you can test whether they are causing the problem? Their buttons might be on the Extensions button drop-down list: Manage your extensions using the extensions button in the toolbar.
By the way, you usually can override sites hiding the built-in context menu by holding down the Shift key while right-clicking.
I have Popup Blocker (strict) and Popup OFF. I have the first one set to ask what I want to do, but sometimes it doesn't. especially if I have to manually open in a new tab, or if the original site is redirecting to another site. I have the other set to "Delicate" so it isn't aggressive. I just got the Popup OFF to stop overlays and those annoying floating social site buttons some stupid websites still have. The annoying thing about it is that it sometimes won't block the overlays and I have to use the "reader view" to do that, and that is annoying when I want to see the images. Thanks for the tip on the tip on the override. Didn't know that.
