Removing Google Trending Searches without removing every single individual Google Trending Search

Now, somebody at Mozilla decided to add Google trending searches to our non-Google searches. Since I want nothing to do with Google other than (grudgingly) having an email account, is there a way to remove all those trending searches in one swoop? I removed the initial bunch, then went back later, and there were more. TIA.

While that suggestion didn't precisely take care of the issue, it pointed me in the right direction. I went to about:config, then navigated to search, and marked Google suggestions to "false".
