automatic request to enter primary pw when I open Firefox

more options

Until I installed the latest update (136.0.1) I could open Firefox and navigate, never having to log into PW manager until I came to a site where I had to log in and use a saved PW. I have many sites where my login is remembered, and I don't have to log in, so this isn't needed most of the time.

Now EVERY time I open Firefox that request for my primary PW pops up and I have to hit CANCEL twice to clear it before I can to anything. It's an annoying pain in the tush.

How do I turn this off, or set it so that that pops up ONLY when I have to log into a site?

Latest update of Win 10 3/15/25

Thanks.

Hmm, there was a bug in Firefox 136.0 that triggered the dialog even if you didn't need it immediately for an open page or to connect to Sync, but that was supposed to be fixed in the 136.0.1 update. Maybe it's a different bug.

I misremembered the number. It is listed as fixed in 136.0.2 (releasing today):
