I have Firefox 115.0.3 on my Win 7 32bit. Do I still have to download the ESR or is 115.0.3 still in the okay range of 115?

Chosen solution

It's better to download the most recent version of 115 ESR (115.21.0). Your 115.0.3 has an outdated root certificate, which may cause various issues.

Forgot to ask, when is the deadline for downloading 115.21.0?

I plan on keeping Win7 after Aug/Sept in hopes of finding compatible browser, while hoping and praying Mozilla extends the Win7 support further....and further.

There won't be a deadline for downloading it.

In August, a decision will be made on whether to maintain security updates in the 115 ESR channel. But no matter what, you'll be able to use it forever, even without security updates.

Thanks again. Especially for the good news re forever ESR/support.

Firefox 115.0.3 was when it was still a Release back on July 27, 2023. The first 115 ESR (based on the Fx 115 Release) was 115.1.0.esr and the current is 115.21.0esr. The last planned update will be 115.27.0esr in August unless Mozilla decides to extend updates for a third time.

Originally the older Firefox 115 ESR channel was going to end as of 115.15.0esr (September 3, 2024) but Mozilla then decided at almost last minute to extend updates the first time.

You can download the 32-bit Firefox Setup 115.21.0esr.exe at https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/115.21.0esr/win32/en-US/ other language folders at https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/115.21.0esr/win32/

Pretty much every other web browser based on Chrome/Chromium already dropped Windows 7, 8, 8.1 support back in Jan/Feb 2023.

Thank you. Novice here, so if I download 115.21 that download will include all the previous fixes/updates after 115.3?

Yes. The fixes are for security and stability fixes as it does not include new features. In the case of Firefox 115.21.0esr it has security fixes since the 115.20.0esr update. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/115.21.0/releasenotes/

If you do each update the update size is small, however if you miss too many updates then it will be a full update. For example in this folder https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/115.21.0esr/update/win32/en-US/ it shows the update files you would get depending on what version you updated from to 115.21.0esr. Do not download from this folder as I only posted the link to help show what happens with internal Firefox updates.

Thanks again, I'm up to date now/115.21.oesr.

Hoping to stay on Firefox 115's, as I plan on keeping Win7.
