This is a new Dell Precision 3260 with Windows 11 and a 1st time install of Thunderbird 128.1.1esr (64-bit)

By default Write, Reply, Forward are missing which may or may not be correct.

However the "View"->"Toolbars" ->"Customize" page shows all the buttons available but when any one is selected it cannot be dragged or saved, it's as if the customize option has been disabled.

Also the blue Save icon is always greyed-out.

Any help much appreciated. Thank you

Apologies, as there were no items present by default it wasn't immediately obvious the toolbar was above the buttons on the same form.

So yes it works, thank you for the help and inspiration.

The default view is the Spaces bar (on top) and the Unified Tool Bar, when viewing the customize pane. Try dragging to the unified bar.

I'm not seeing any bug reports about this https://mzl.la/3MsMQZX.

1. Have you tried dragging an item FROM the toolbar? 2. Anything in Error Console (ctrl+shift+J) after opening or closing customize? 3. Are you doing this from the 3-pane window? Or a standalone message window? 4. Does it work after doing Help > restart normal after doing Help > Troubleshoot mode ?

It will only activate when it detects a pending change to the toolbar, and you haven't been able to drag anything to change the toolbar.
