sending msg always results in "STAT command did not succeed ... Error getting message number and sizes" - getting msgs NO PROBLEM.

I don't understand, the error says "Error getting message number and sizes" and shows an authentication error from the pop server, which is an error you would receive from getting messages not sending. Sending messages is SMTP, and would say "Error sending message"...
