No visible e-mails in Inbox

more options

Been using Thunderbird for 20 years but never had this issue. I might have pressed some keyboard shortcut wrongly?

My inbox does not show any message, even though there are two of them (and more incoming, there was one when the issue started). As far as I can see, I have no filters of any kind activated.

Any idea how to see the invisible messages again?

Thanks!

Hello there We have read the question We try to help

Has this case of missing emails occurred before? For example, in the past three weeks or more often in such a period What is your standard security? Do you have security on board? Your security can scan your data, including your email. If you have your email scanned by your Antivirus program, there may be an option to have it fixed. This is not recommended in this area and could cause a problem, such as you are now experiencing: your email suddenly disappears automatically. What antivirus is it that you guys use?

Thank you.

No antivirus or anything like that. As can be seen in the screenshot, the number two showing that the messages are here is displayed in the UI, so they did arrive to Thunderbird, they are simply not displayed in the message list.

First time this happens. Messages were visible yesterday morning, and at some point there weren’t. It’s either a bug or some filtering/view that I activated by mistake

Hello there

The question for you was whether you used compression assignments at the time. This method also appears to be used at the time of use there is and. Created a nsmtp profile to use it temporarily for this purpose.

The question was whether you can get directly to this nsmtp file to open it with a word editor The purpose of this compressing task was to temporarily create this folder and delete the file or temporarily save it in this folder called nsmtp if this folder is still present you could open it with the mentioned word editor copy the text of your mails from here and Safely save to third party folder of yours just created

Hello there

Your use with filters would make these inbox mails disappear ?

Hello there

What you could do is to disable the filtering system you have created. After that Try to start up in trouble shoot modus. Send a test email to your inbox. Does the email appear in the inbox ?

Hello there

My question was above if you were running commands that were compressive at the time, in the event of a disruption they can be found in certain folders as described above.

Hello there

Using troubleshoot mode can see if you have installed the wrong add-ons, after locating them you can remove them, for example. Your inbox remains blank, yes, but these emails are present as you write. It means that these are clearly deleted or forwarded by a process, these have indeed not arrived in their place.

Hello there

As you indicate that you use filters, it will not be due to the overflowing inbox that suppresses causes there are only two reserved on your 2 inbox messages as in the photo.

Hello there

I can suggest that if this continues, you can offer a workaround, this has to do with correcting these processes, after you have permanently disabled the filters, you can look up the inbox.msf file to clear it and restart it, you can fix the above mentioned topics that may be disturbing your inbox by clearing this inbox.msf and restarting it as far as Thunderbird software is concerned. We've looked at the following topics: removing bad add-ons, and reinstalling and correcting your workaround from your inbox by clearing it from your inbox.msf, so you can now continue to receive email on your inbox account with Thunderbird.

If these solutions are a no to go. Then send us back a message . For further solution.

Thanks, not sure I understand it all, but I’m not on that computer today so will try later in the week.

To be clear, I don’t use filters. I was simply wondering if I had activated by mistake some kind of filter or something akin to that that would explain why I don’t see the messages.

Hello there

Oké , try to make copies of the inbox from the pc .for safety.

Okay, move the name of the inbox, for example, in oldinbox, delete the inbox.msf file, .use this method as previously sent to you.this is used in case of a redirect because your situation is not really threatening, furthermore, for example, an inbox can be opened, the program can still be used for e-mail traffic in good condition.

Hello there

Once you have swapped the inbox file for the new named oldinboxyou can see if it can be compressed by clicking on the menu if so, do this and open the folder.can you open it then you are done and can delete so-called copies if they are present? If you can t open that map. Then Something else is bottering that issue. Then you have to follow the other solution. Send me a message after trying to open that map oldinbox and that does not work.
