Afteer Thunderbird uppdated itself it is completely useless. Merged folders only shows one of seven mailboxes, trasch shows noting and so on. Can anybody help or do I have to switch to another app. This is very bad, as I use Thunderbird in my work.

Chosen solution

Prior to reverting, I encourage you to define what doesn't work. For example, by merged folders, do you mean unified folders? If so, right-clicking on INBOX, you can click 'choose' and confirm what accounts to include. That information is sometimes lost and easily corrected. However, if you prefer to revert to a prior version, then you could click Windows key and 'r' key together and on next window enter

  thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade

and that starts the process. Be sure to backup profile first. And this process does not always work.

I found it under Right-click - Properties - and a Choose button, thanx, it solved the Unified folder problem. I did the same with the trash folder ant now it all seem to work again. THANX, you saved the day!
