I would like to know how a preference that was removed in V3 is expected to do anything. So far no one can point me to the source of this preference for this issue. Basically I think it is a furphy, but I can't get to a source.

FYI I did search the source tree, and it appears once in a user preferences file for automated testing. Not in the program code as such.
