Is it an Outlook.com address?
Thank you Stans for your reply, sorry I took time to reply. This new email address I wish to add to Thunderbirds is a Hotmail address. Thunderbirds came up with "outlook.office.com" after I had entered the Hotmail address with Available configurations. Hope this helps you. Is there any more info you need?
Thanks Rich_42
Do you have 2-factor authentication enabled for this account?
Yes I believe so.
In that case, your Outlook.com primary password won't work. You need to use an app-specific password as explained here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/using-app-passwords-with-apps-that-don-t-support-two-step-verification-5896ed9b-4263-e681-128a-a6f2979a7944
Thank you Stans, I will have look at details and let you know the outcome.

So far could not get it to work. Am I in the right place on my Microsoft account - see attachment

Step 2 of that article should say "Select Advanced security options"
Did you open that link using a smartphone?
clicked on "I sync my Outlook.com email on an Android phone" Opened Hotmail email account on my phone - Opened Menu then Settings. Looking at email account can't see how to find step 4 "Incoming Setting (under Server setting) I have also turned off two step and still did not work? Note: I did not do a restart.
I am lost.

Why are you doing it from your phone?
Thank you Matt and Stans
Re: Why are you doing it from your phone?
Sorry, I not sure as I said I am lost. Also being dyslexic does not help.
