Will Mozilla VPN give me security from spyware such as Pegasus? Will it increase my bandwidth? https://www.democracynow.org/2021/9/16/the_spy_who_came_in_through https://www.democracynow.org/2021/9/16/the_spy_who_came_in_through

Chosen solution

Hi Ronny, a VPN has a specific function which is not related either to Pegasus or bandwidth.

A VPN program temporarily bypasses your regular home/office internet service provider (or coffee shop wi-fi provider), taking them out of the loop of your connection to websites. Sites will now perceive your connection as originating from a different part of the internet. This can be useful if your service provider is censoring you or they can't be trusted for other reasons.

Pegasus is a program that runs on your device. A VPN changes your network connection for all of your programs, but that probably won't prevent Pegasus from sending out your information unless your VPN service has some kind of special filters.

A VPN program may or may not affect the speed/throughput of your connection. In some cases it may be slower if the VPN customers are using the service very heavily at the same time as you.
